We offer Self Guided tours Monday-Friday starting at 10:30am, with the last tour starting at 3:30pm. Guided Tours are offered on Saturdays at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm.Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Mark Payton Glass Center @ The Glassworks Bldg by using our Louisville trip planner.
The Walk-in Workshop is where you can create your own fused glass work of art. Adults and children ages 12 and older can learn how to cut flat glass to create their own functional or decorative artwork. Project prices in the WIW range from $12.50-$250, and we have over 40 options to choose from! Reservations are required for groups of 5 or more. ***THE LATEST START TIME FOR THE WALK-IN WORKSHOP IS 2:30PM
Another popular choice is the Flame Your Own (FYO). During the FYO, you will work personally on a torch with owner/artist Mark Payton. Mark will guide you through the process, but you do about 95% of the actual work. There are a variety of project options to choose from ranging from snowman ornaments to pendants and Mark's famous Cootie Bugs! Although it is offered year-round, the Flame Your Own (FYO) is quickly becoming a holiday family tradition for both locals and out-of-towners.
If you're just looking to add to your collection of art or jewelry, we also have an extensive gallery of fused, stained glass, and flameworked pieces.

This was an incredible experience! Although the website to make an appointment is not very user friendly, PLEASE do not let that deter you from visiting this amazing location! Call Mark or Jennifer to get information about how to make a one of a kind gem. We happened to walk in and lucked out that they had an opening, but I would recommend calling first. They will tell you all you need to know. Prices are very fair, and there is no time limit on how long it takes to make your piece. I told them when I left that I will come back every time I visit Louisville. This has been a dream of mine since I was a kid because my great grandfather was a glass blower, so although you don’t actually do glass blowing, learning a tiny bit of this craft was a dream come true! Do yourself a favor, and enjoy an hour or so with a true artist, take home a souvenir, and learn something that you will not learn from the average person. I can’t wait to go back!

Had an awesome time blowing glass with Mark!! I accidentally got our date wrong but he was able to fit us in while we were there! It was so much fun and he is so knowledgeable about the art! I thought pricing was just right for the pieces we did and I can’t wait to pick them up!!
