Virginia Distillery Company is an American Single Malt whisky distillery located amongst the Blue Ridge Mountains in central Virginia.

Courage & Conviction, our American Single Malt whisky product, is currently being produced on-site using malted barley from the U.S. and water from Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Sherry, Cuvée, and Bourbon casks are used to age this unique whisky. We expect to release this whisky in three to six years’ time from casking, with a target release date in Spring 2020.

Our current product, Virginia Highland-Whisky, is an aged malt whisky which is brought over from Scotland and married with whisky made on-site in Virginia. The whisky is then cask-finished in Virginia port-style wine barrels for an additional six to twelve months to add nuances of dried fruit, toffee and dark cocoa.

  • This place is a hidden gem. The whiskeys are fantastic, unique and well thought out. None were over powering and went well with the mood on a hot summer's day. The staff have a great knowledge of not only their products, but other bourbons and whiskeys. Howard is a gem unto himself, a people reader extraordinaire. This place is a must stop and visit, even if you don't like whiskey.
  • Gorgeous grounds and ambiance and the staff is very friendly. We ordered two flights, one with three kinds of straight whiskey (.5 oz each), and one flight with three different cocktail samples. Both flights were $10. The straight whiskey was great; however, the cocktails were absolutely horrible. They were all sickly sweet and you would never guess they were alcoholic.
