Boott Cotton Mills Museum, Lowell

This national park is unlike the "nature" parks, but just an eye-opening and educational. The museum has a large mill room that is a good example of the sites and sounds of a mill at work (they even offer you ear protection). We got a private tour with a great guide, she was extremely knowledgeable, spent a great deal of time with us, and answered all our questions. Other times the tour group would probably be larger, but on a quiet Monday it was great. Be sure and watch the optional video about the industrial revolution as it helps to set the stage for the history of this area as well as the entire country. I was a little skeptical of this site, but would recommend it highly to all.

Such an incredible experience. 💚 Informative tours. Hands on learning. And the group of 5/6th graders I got to with were able to compare what we saw with what they studied - and to see the looks on their faces - YES!!!! That is why we study the past. And that is why these amazing people preserve it. Our younger generations need to keep their heads up, minds open and move forward. Thank you so much for this opportunity to learn and grow.
