Create an itinerary including Sunset Beach
Appropriately named, Sunset Beach is well-known for the show of colors as the sun dips below the horizon. The sunset attracts a crowd, so head there well before it's time for the sun to go down to snag a spot. The beach is also famous for the flag ceremony honoring veterans that happens every night during summer. Marvin Hume, the owner of this stretch of beach property, has held this ceremony for the last 40 years. The temperature drops when the sun disappears, so bring a blanket to cozy up. You may find be lucky enough to find a "Cape May diamond," beautiful pure quartz crystals known to wash up on the beach. • This has always been a great scenic beach to visit. Whether it's to catch a sunset or relaxing on the beach, it's always peaceful. And now it is a great place to visit to view the pelicans, as well...

  • Breathtaking sunsets, bicycle rides on the Promenade, and searching for beautiful Cape May diamonds along the shoreline, this is one of the most magical places on earth. All within one scan of its landscape one can view the remnants of the SS Atlantus, the lighthouse, the WWII Lookout Tower, and the ferry that travels back and forth between Cape May to Lewes, Delaware. Regardless of the cold or wet weather you will always see someone enjoying the sights and sounds of the ocean at Sunset Beach. This is a special place.
  • it is called Sunset Beach for a reason. its sunset is really beautiful. nice for an evening date. parking is easy but come early before it is crowded, located near the Atlantic SS wreckage. walk towards Higbee Beach for a less crowded area and enjoy the sunset!
