Lion Country Safari, Loxahatchee

Purportedly the first "cageless" animal park in the United States, the touring roads through Lion Country Safari weave among animals commonly found on African safari. After purchasing a ticket to the park, you'll be handed an audiotape or CD to play as a guided tour for your drive. It is important to drive slowly and keep doors and windows closed at all times. In the chimpanzee exhibit, chimps mimic their natural behavior by migrating from island to island within the park, and the exhibit are also used to research the primates' complex behavior. After the driving tour, the visit Safari World Ferris wheel, petting zoo, and rides. • We've been through several drive-through zoo and this one has been the best one so far. It was such a wonderful experience and our kids loved it. It's always great to see the animals in open space and out in their own habitat. The place is very well kept and it is clean. We were able to stop a few times to take pictures of the animals ( from inside the car of course). Some of them came very close to our car. Be sure to drive slowly and enjoy the view and all the animals. We will definitely be back again. Highly recommend this safari!
  • What a wonderful place to visit! We visited with 4 children aged 8-13. The animal are free to roam and they look well taken care of. From the pictures I included, you wouldn’t believe how close you get to animals! In my life I never thought I’d be so close to them! The water park is awesome and so are the grounds! Highly recommend this wonderful place.
