The opening ceremony for the Little League Tournament of State Champions was held here, and we had a blast. The large, open grass field is perfect for playing catch or just hanging out on a blanket. And the raised stage in the corner is set up well for musical performances or speeches. Of course, the main attractions here are the large whirligig structures surrounding the field...there are over a dozen of them scattered about, and each one is unique and interesting. The shaded structure outside the grass is perfect for banquets too. A great place to gather and have fun in the heart of Wilson!

Love ❤️ Love ❤️ Love ❤️ the Whirligig Park! Kudos to the ones with the vision to salvage it and bring it to downtown Wilson. It’s an amazing story of Vollis Simpson’s creativity and humility. So glad many generations will be able to enjoy. It’s a great venue to visit for any event or just to stroll. Highly recommend!🙌
