  • The park was absolutely beautiful and very drivable! It’s not super dog friendly, but they are allowed on some trails, campgrounds, and visitor centers. The park offered a lot of scenic turnoffs...

  • The Fall Colors were amazing!!! I spoke with people who come every year just for the colors. You could stay in your car the whole way and have enjoyed the park. It's an easy park to drive...

  • Beautiful scenery and a lovely drive. To enjoy this park take your time. Drive the speed limit and enjoy the turnouts. They have plenty of hiking trails for beginners and for the hardcore. The Appalachian trail crosses the road on several occasions so bears and deer are not the only animals to watch for. A plethora of butterflies were about while we were here. They have horses to ride in the park so check it out. One suggestion on what not to do, we used Google maps to find our way here. I went to the Park headquarters or ranger offices. I was trying to find the entrance and or visitor center but failed. Look for the entrances. We missed several miles of the drive.
  • The rangers are very helpful at this low traffic visitors center. Parking lots faces the back of the building, so walk down the stairs and around to the front door which is facing be road.
