Lake Herman State Park is a South Dakota state park in Lake County, South Dakota in the United States. The park is open for year-round recreation including camping, swimming, fishing, hiking and boating on the 1,350-acre Lake Herman. There are 72 campsites which feature electric hook-ups and 2 cabins.
The namesake Lake Herman has the name of Herman Luce, a pioneer who settled near it.

  • We only stayed at campground one night but the lake was large and the sunset was lovely. There is a nice boat ramp and the rv sites are huge!  more »

  • Great staff, clean bathrooms and sites. Wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend if your looking for a place to get away and take the family camping.
  • Very nice swimming area for the kids, great barbecue grills, everyone was nice, the grass was mowed, and I didn’t see any bugs that bit us at all. They have canoes and kayakes for rent which are fun. Had a great time!
