Manchester Woodcraft is a family-owned and operated wood products store and factory in the heart of the Green Mountains of Vermont. We have been making useful and inexpensive household items and furniture for more than 60 years. Founded by Nundy Bongartz in 1950, the longstanding tradition of a small factory full of wood and sawdust and a talented crew of artisan woodworkers continues to this day under the guidance of his family. The family has preserved the original feel of the business, running bandsaws and sanders in the back and waiting on customers in the front. Housed in a modest building, with no central heat or air conditioning, Manchester Woodcraft continues to be a traditional no-frills operation, almost unchanged since inception.

Manchester Woodcraft produces a wonderful array of practical and useful wooden products, many of which are hard to find in today's modern world, things that will make your life easier and reawaken your joy in simple things. Incredibly affordable, many items are made right here at our own Vermont factory. It’s a rare person who doesn’t find something they need at our store, from the smallest bracket or finial to the largest Adirondack chair or bookcase. We hope you will find something to bring a smile or ease your day. Make sure to amble through our website at a proper Vermont pace – a stroll – and take time to look over all of our authentic Vermont-made woodenware.

  • I have been a patron of this little store for what seems like an eternity. It gets better with time though. I stop in whenever I pass through Manchester. Awesome shop for crafters, Vermont lovers, etc. Pay them a visit. I am sure you will meet some great people and find a treasure that you will keep for a lifetime.
  • A nice collection of mostly locally made wood items to warm up your home.
