An ideal spot for a relaxing stroll, Manhattan Beach Pier boasts superb views and a relaxed atmosphere. The structure stretches 283 m (928 ft) with a small aquarium marking the end. A walk down the pier reveals an array of artists, photographers, and fishermen. Keen anglers should bring their rod along to enjoy guitarfish, croakers, small rays, and superb surfperch fishing. Below the pier, watch for surfers riding the waves: this spot played an important role in the history of the sport and has been popular with its proponents since the 1940s. • Had a great time walking the pier, watching the people, seeing all of the empty volleyball nets, just imagining everyone playing. Of course, it was March!

  • What a great and peaceful walk to the Manhattan Beach Pier, started at the Northern most part of MB at a place referred to as El Porto, There you can watch the Surfers and then stroll to the South...

  • This place is great, get here early in the summer as parking fills up. The water always seems to be clearer around the pier The waves are great for surfing both body and board. Great place to take photos under the pier. That hot showers and working bathrooms all the time. And plenty of restaurants in the area to enjoy Cheers
  • One of the cleanest and safest beaches I have been to. Beautifully kept and well maintained. Love the No Smoking ban👍🏻. It’s definitely a locals beach but for California (LA area) we felt completely safe. Usually beaches near LA are full of homeless, debris & unsavory characters but NOT here. You can tell people there take pride of their beach town and I love that!
