An ideal spot for a relaxing stroll, Manhattan Beach Pier boasts superb views and a relaxed atmosphere. The structure stretches 283 m (928 ft) with a small aquarium marking the end. A walk down the pier reveals an array of artists, photographers, and fishermen. Keen anglers should bring their rod along to enjoy guitarfish, croakers, small rays, and superb surfperch fishing. Below the pier, watch for surfers riding the waves: this spot played an important role in the history of the sport and has been popular with its proponents since the 1940s. Manhattan Beach Pier reviews
Surfers, sunbathers, views up and down the coast and the sea air to set your mind a drift. It doesn’t get much better. more »
Who doesn't like walking on a pier day or night. Hearing the waves crashing against the pylons and the smell of the water can't be beat. The best thing that this activity is free. more »
This Pier is very beautiful with a simplicity that is very unique. Here is where the saying "less is more" applies. There is a peacefulness felt here at any time of day or night. The sunsets are incredibly gorgeous in this pier. Birds do fly and make the sky a picture perfect place to visit. There is a small but full of life and fun aquarium in the round house building at the end. There restrooms but they do close at some hours. The city and the residents and also the visitor here do a good job pf keeping the area very clean. Parking is available steps way from the entrance to the Pier. (Not free) The shopping district is directly in front of the pier and offers lots of food options. I love this pier and will continue to visit as much as I can.
Worth seeing... Considering I'm from Texas. Long walk to the end of the pier. Orange Benches looked dirty I wouldn't sit on them .... Not any of the trash or homeless I assumed would be around enjoying the Benches... I enjoyed the salty air . Neat to see all the surfers .
