  • This place is pretty popular - too much so some times. i've seen it nearly shoulder-to-shoulder. And, some times it smells pretty bad, from dead fish left laying around. But that said, I've rarely...

  • Great fishing for all kinds of fish. Have caught everything from Big flatheads to a rainbow trout. Right after the water drops low is a great time to fish.

  • The trail is all paved and an easy walk around. There are benches that you can sit and rest in the shade. You can take a stroller down this trail. It is family and dog friendly. We had our dogs on leashes but there were a few who did not. Most of the view to the river was obscured by trees and brush. There is a pit toilet at the trail head. We walked 2.27 miles out and back. This was a nice morning walk and we would go again. There were a few people fishing and we saw 4 couples walking the trail and bike riders. Everyone was polite and respectful.
  • Went fishing here with my dad in April 2022.  It's a pretty fruitful site, we caught a drum and a catfish.  I saw someone catch a gar.  It's a pretty nice place for bird-watching also and the Western Heritage Trail offers a respite from fishing for those tagging along with fishermen.  One note of caution:  the rocks can cause a lot snags.
