Rocky Ford State Fishing Area, Manhattan

Went fishing here with my dad in April 2022.  It's a pretty fruitful site, we caught a drum and a catfish.  I saw someone catch a gar.  It's a pretty nice place for bird-watching also and the Western Heritage Trail offers a respite from fishing for those tagging along with fishermen.  One note of caution:  the rocks can cause a lot snags.

We walked the Western trail today and went down to visit the creek. We were very impressed with how clean it is. I saw no trash absolutely anywhere. The grass was very well maintained. There were tons of bugs and squirrels and things, telling me it is a comfortable environment for them - for me, that's a big plus. People were very respectful at the water and being careful with what they were doing. The water was filled with wish and the little waterfall was nice. I recommend taking a walk here, visiting the water, etc; however, since I didn't fish, I can't comment on that.
