Miramont Castle Museum, Manitou Springs

3.9
Initially built in 1895 as a residence for Father Jean Baptist Francolon, Miramont Castle Museum represents an architectural delight with styles ranging from Byzantine to Tudor. Today, tour the museum's 42 rooms decorated in Victorian-era fashion as well as lush, manicured gardens. Along the way, keep your eyes peeled for ghosts--many claim the attraction is haunted by apparitions. Just ask the staff about some of the house's unexplained incidents! • I have visited the Museum in the past but this time I want to address the Tearoom. My sisters and I enjoyed the Tearoom during their visit this year. We all agreed this is possibly the best Afteroon H...  more »

  • Please do yourself a favor and do high tea at Miramont Castle. It is the sweetest, most endearing time with delicious teas and food. The portions may seem small but by the end of all your courses, you're quite full! I recommend going several times as the chefs switch out the sandwiches, desserts, and fruit assortments all the time. Also, the staff is wonderful and personable. Whoever the older gentleman is with the kind smile, who always seems to be there; thank you for making each visit so magical.
  • The castle is beautiful and has a great vibe to it. The staff are really accommodating and friendly. The only draw back is there are a ton of stairs inside and out. The outside stairs are very steep and the knee-high hand rails offer no help or support. The high tea they offer is wonderful. The wait staff is wonderful. Very informative and helpful.
  • Went for high tea, then decided to explore the castle. The high tea was perfect! Delicious teas, scones, fruit, sandwiches and desserts. Do not stop at this destination without having high tea! As for the castle itself, it was bizarre. The tour is self guided, but you really need a tour guide. Each room you enter raise so many questions that cannot be answered by the posters describing it. Some rooms are set up in a way that doesn't match with the era of the house. The overall feel was creepy and there was a lot if missed attention to detail on the renovations. It is absolutely worth the money to walk around and see everything, but it will certainly leave you with more questions than when you started.
  • Definitely worth a visit. The staff is super friendly. If you have extra time to kill you should take the self guided tour, but don't choose this over another experience in the area. They host afternoon teas here, I've never attended one, but the menu looks great. I will certainly go back for a tea. As a Colorado Springs resident the castle tour is on my must visit list when friends and family are in town.
  • Fantastic. We did the high tea (reservations sugessted) and then toured the castle. The tea was a great experience. The tea and scones and deserts were amazing. They had hats to dress and all the tables set. Our server was very pleasant and friendly. The castle itself was interesting and they had a scavenger hunt for the kids and adults. Put this in your plans.
