  • Found this place by browsing Trip Advisor while eating lunch in Marble Falls. Had a bit of trouble finding the location-it’s on Dead Man’s Hole Road😊. A bit disappointed that the hole was covered...

  • I am a historical marker junkie. So obviously, I love stopping here. I wonder what this man thought when he discovered this hole. I wonder what was going through those men's heads as they were being taken to this spot to be dumped 155 feet clear to the bottom. I wonder what the history of this hole holds before it was discovered and documented. Texas has a gruesome history. Pretty erie when you sit there and think about it. Less than two miles off of hwy 281 in marble falls. Definitely worth the quick detour.
  • Approximately 3 miles off of US 281, this historic site is off the beaten path. If you blink on the 2 lane road you'll miss the turn off. Remembering the old west and how their brand of justice was served, gives insight to how lonely & desolate this place was back in the 1800's. It's part of Texas history, not one of the better parts but history none the less. Enjoy the solitude and respect the peace of the souls that were lost here. If you have 15 minutes to spare when driving down US 281, then swing by and pay your respects. Enjoy!
