  • Wasn't sure what to expect when we decided to take a short drive into the recreation area but was very pleased to find BLUEBONNETS!! Very beautiful! This was our main goal of visiting this area...

  • Very quiet at night with no traffic noise. We got to listen to the sounds of nature and even an owl in the tree above us. The water is great for swimming. Each spot comes with a picnic table, grill, and fire pit. However, I would warn campers not to reserve a spot near #21 as we were not in a very scenic area and very close to the portable toilet. Maybe go and scout it out one day before planning your camping trip.
  • Turkey Bend is one a favorite location of mine for camping and fishing. It's nothing fancy. Just what camping should be. There are restrooms at the front of the park and Portable Toilets throughout. Camp grounds have a pole for hanging trash or food from; as well as a picnic table, campfire ring, and barbeque grill. I paid $5 to get inside the park. Fees may vary depending on how many people you bring and how long you stay. I do remember the sign saying "Horse and Rider $12" lol so that's nice to know.
