Algonac State Park, Marine City

Great park for camping! Tents or RVs. Hiking trails, shot gun shooting area, pavilion for gatherings, horse shoe pits and volleyball courts. Some newer restroom/shower areas which are much nicer than the older ones but all are suitable for day use because they are cleaned frequently. Small boat launch and nice swimming area across the street from the park. Lots of sandy bottom areas on both sides of the launch but not much beach area when the water is high. Great place

Enjoyed this park, nice and quiet NORTH River site 149. A couple of notes though about the admin building and the rangers who work inside the admin building - not too friendly - overall they need to work on there people skills. I complained about the shower HOT water temperature being way to high (scalding) and no cold water to offset it - the older ranger said he would have someone look at it - three days later no change. Not much to do for the younger kids, this is not a KOA or Good Sam's Park. I would most definitely stay here again and you cannot beat the price.
