This historic landmark should be properly cared for and reopened to the public. The site has so much promise… it just needs a little TLC.

Mr. Jennings, the director, gave us a personal tour of the museum and a personal outdoor description of the site. This is a very important archeological site for Louisiana and the operation is totally underfunded and needs new AV and print collateral. We were in Alexandria and drove over for the afternoon. We didn't see a single directional sign for the site and our GPS took us through an urban residential area to get there. The walking tour was excellent but signs and the stops along the circuit need improvement to tell the important story of the Hopewells in mid America.
