Such an awesome place! We went there today, and my kids had a great time. Yes, the lighting was dim in certain areas (as mentioned in prior reviews) and yes it wasn't "The Met" in terms of it being "fancy fancy" (what else can you expect for a five dollar ticket), but it WAS educational and you could tell that the curators are really trying to help educate the public. My children said the museum was the highlight of our getaway, and we did a ton on this three day trip. It's amazing that most of the pieces were owned by one person at one time. I loved seeing the taxidermy and the live animals. If you're in the area, stop by. It's a very affordable place to see animals you may never see (like live bald eagles).
Awesome taxidermy museum, beautiful mountain views, large gift shop with quality goods and food.
