Matagorda Bay Nature Park is a 1,600-acre park and preserve on the Matagorda Peninsula where the original channel of the Texas Colorado River meets the Gulf of Mexico. The park has about 2 miles of Gulf of Mexico beachfront and 2 miles river frontage with hundreds of acres of coastal marshes and dunes. It is one of the best birding areas in the nation.

  • What a wonderful place this was we met our in laws here and boy oh boy was it very nice way to start out a vacation in Texas. The facilities were very nice and clean. The staff was very friendly and courteous. The campground was so clean and tidy. Was very impressed with the atmosphere all the way around outstanding
  • Great RV park. It is right on the Colorado River and walking distance to the beach. Very well kept grounds. Nice staff and facilities. We will be back and I would definitely recommend it.
