  • Great place to hike and although we didn’t go there to camp, it looked like it might be good for that as well. Nice creek running through it and lots of old buildings to see.

  • We rented the Nelson Cabin for a long weekend. Regarding the cabin - We were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the cabin. We had brought our own sheets in case we didn’t like the ones...

  • This park has a great infrastructure. They have lined up several old historic cabins just past the creek. There is a store as well as a creamery. Also a camp grounds right inside the main park area. The hiking trails could be marked better. The trails are very easy to hike compared to other places I've been. There are several cool historical things to see. A quarry, a civil war Era cemetery an iron works museum and probably the coolest thing I've seen thus far. A historic beautiful and enormous furnace. The history of the Civil War, slavery, and iron in the south are all here. They do a great job telling the story of what took place many years ago. I would strongly recommend hiking this place and taking in the history it tells.
  • Amazing park, it really felt like a hidden gem. We tent camped and the primitive sites were located along a small brook. We watched a family of deer cross right next to us. The trails are awesome and the water is beautiful. Great family or couples retreat for a weekend. Bathrooms/showers could use some updating but all in all, a fantastic place to visit.
