Cumberland Caverns Reviews
We went on the standard cavern tour. Lots of steps in a humid area, so be prepared if you are sick or have breathing difficulties. The tour was great and we enjoyed the visit. more »
We drove 10 hours to attend the concerts in the cave this past weekend. We arrived around noon and it had rained earlier in the morning leaving the ground very wet and muddy. After we received our wri... more »
Amazing place. Went with family and everyone had a great time. 8yo daughter of course had to use the restroom 20 minutes in and the restrooms in the concert hall were out of order. The stair climb in the big room was awesome. The story of the cave discoverer that was trapped in darkness for 3 days is amazing as well. Trip 2 Disappointed with my second trip. We got to the big staircase and was told at that point that the rest of the walk could not take place because the light show was not working. I should’ve been told this before I paid $126 for 4 adults and 2 children. As we were nearing the exit of the cave we were told the gift shop was closed. No explanation just closed. When we arrived back up to the gift shop I discovered why our trip had been altered. There was 100+ people preparing to go in for overnight camping. What really sucks about it is the two people that were new to the cave and was anticipating the full experience.
Really cool place. We did the walking tour and well worth it. Nothing I can see out here in the Chicago area like that. Make sure you have good/comfy shoes on!
