A taste of Europe in Miami, Vizcaya Museum and Gardens once served as the home of businessman James Deering. Begun in 1910, with architecture and gardens modeled on the Mediterranean Revival style, the estate was Deering's winter residence from 1916 until his death in 1925. Today, the museum and gardens attract visitors who are drawn by the villa's collection of antique furniture, tapestries, paintings, and decorative arts. The seaside gardens brim with fountains, sculptures, gazebos, trails, and pools. The estate frequently hosts dignitaries from around the world. Beautiful old estate and gardens from another era. The house has been maintained pretty well, and the gardens are beautiful. The gardens are on several levels, arranged in outdoor rooms, each more enchanting than the next. Very picturesque. Lots of people posing in the house and all over the grounds. The was even a bridal shoot. There were a lot of people, but it wasn't crowded. It must have been an amazing place to visit in its heyday!

My wife and I recently had our wedding here, near the casino and garden mound. The grounds were stunning, perfect for any special event, and the tree canopy provided great shade for our wedding party throughout the ceremony. We had our ceremony at 9:30am right when the doors opened and we had absolutely no interruptions throughout its entirety. We followed up our ceremony with photos throughout the grounds, all of which turned out perfect! The natural beauty of Vizcaya is a perfect back drop and brings the perfect energy to a wedding. We highly recommend this historic space for anyone looking for a wedding location.
