Zoo Miami, Miami

4.3
#1 of 31 in Parks in Miami
Florida’s oldest zoological garden, Zoo Miami is home to over 2,000 animals across more than 100 exhibits. An air-conditioned monorail takes a loop around the zoo and is a comfortable and convenient way to get around the site, providing an aerial view of some exhibits. There are four main areas of the zoo: Asia, Africa, Amazon and beyond, and Australia. Those who want to experience animals up close can brush an Indian rhinoceros or feed a giraffe for an additional fee. For more information about the zoo and its animals, take a narrated tram ride or guided tour. For Zoo Miami and beyond, use our Miami road trip planning site to get the most from your Miami vacation.

  • We went with adult family members on a saturday. We were there from 11am to 4pm and still didn't see everything due to the size of the zoo. The animals have large habitats and are well cared for. They...  more »
  • A moderately close option of Miami Beach, with an environment of care and adapted to each species. The Miami Zoo becomes a fun attraction. Perfectly-signposted streets, monorail, places to eat at reasonable prices and a complete variety of animals. Safety pin! In my opinion better and more cost-effective than Animal Kingdom in Orlando

  • We were staying in Fort Lauderdale and this attraction was included in our Summer Pass. This is definitely the best Zoo I have visited in my life. Whilst the layout was more vast that I expected, it w...  more »

  • I visited here in August. It was hot, but there are fortunately a lot of air conditioned buildings to break up the heat. They have a couple of cute eateries throughout the zoo, and several serve beer. The admission price is what you'd expect from a large zoo - it's not cheap, but it's worth it. There is so much to see here that it would honestly take more than a single day to see it all. I recommend buying a refillable soda cup at the beginning of your day.
  • My family and I had a great time at Metro Zoo. I was amazed on how much better it was from the old Metro Zoo. The bathroom was very clean and so was everything else. The animals looked great and the displays gave informative information on all animals. We loved the water park, it was refreshing after all that sun. The train ride was also nice. Kept up the great work. Definitely returning.
  • Absolutely perfect place to spend the day, especially for kids! Besides seeing animals from all over the world, there are many interactive features that help you learn fun facts about them! There's big splashing as well as regular playground, great for kids to enjoy, don't forget to bring bathing suits and towels! All in all-one of the best attractions in Miami! You will enjoy the visit! The only thing I would like to change - more dining options.
  • This zoo is AMAZING!! I have been to several zoos across the country including Seattle, Jacksonville, Milwaukee and this one takes the cake hands down! The variety of animals was awesome. So many extras like the river boat ride, monorail, bike and paddle boat rentals, splash pads and more! Music was playing throughout and their was lots of shaded areas. We went with 3 children ages 8,4 & 11months and every one had a blast. This zoo is huge we came back for a 2nd day. Keep up the good work Zoo Miami you are on point!!!! Amazing perfect 10!
  • The exhibits are fun and interactive. Very family friendly for all ages. You definitely can not see everything in one day, worth going multiple days. If you are able to pay the extra to feed the animals, I highly recommend it.
