"To proudly restore Virginia wines to world renown, and celebrate the homecoming of Norton, The Real American Grape!®"

Locksley Estate, home of our vineyards and winery here in Middleburg, Virginia, offers 412 acres of what is widely recognized as some of the prettiest countryside in the world. As you relax on Sarah’s Patio, admiring the rolling vineyard landscapes, it’s easy to imagine what drove our forefathers to fight for this land and for our freedom. This unique corner of Virginia, nestled along the banks of the Hungry Run, is only 35 miles from our nation’s capital. Tucked between the Bull Run Mountains to the east and the Blue Ridge to the west, Chrysalis Vineyards revels in extraordinary vistas year-round.

  • A lovely view and welcoming environment. Found the white wines light and refreshing. Did not try the reds. FYI - you are not permitted to bring a n your own food. They hired a chef in the spring and stopped the outside food from being allowed.
  • This is our first trip to Chrysalis since they opened their new tasting room. Chrysalis is a must visit winery to determine if you like Norton (aka Cynthiana) wines. We got to taste four Norton wines during our tasting, and as typical I always find one that I really like. Overall we tasted 10 wines; three whites, one rosé, and 5 red wines. Chase ran our wine tasting and did a fantastic job with his knowledge of the wines. You can no longer bring your own food to Chrysalis, but they do have a lot of local food options you can sample and purchase.
