  • The visit took about 90 minutes and we had the place to ourselves. Admission was $5 per adult and well worth the cost. The museum is on campus but parking was not an issue. My husband is a visit nut and he admitted to learning as well.
  • Very nice little museum. The downstairs has well designed, interesting exhibit about the history of the area. Including native history, early immigrants to the area, the dust bowl years, pioneer and farming exhibits. The ancient threshing machine, settlers cabin and sheep wagon are quite cool. Upstairs there’s a great exhibit on the artist Charles Hargens, who grew up in the area. They moved his entire studio from outside of Philadelphia back to this museum. His style is very much like Norman Rockwell, focusing on americana and early western themes. They did a nice job of explaining the process by which an artist creates a work, from old pictures and photographs to the final painted work. There’s some really great western themed artwork here!
