  • Was closed when we were here but it’s absolutely beautiful. New York State sure knows how to take care of their parks. Restoration being done along the shoreline I find it very interesting. If you go make sure to take a walk along the beaches on both sides they are rocky but fun and beautiful.
  • Montauk State Park and the lighthouse are worth the drive. This trip is during the winter, so most of the stores and restaurants are closed for the season, however the horrific traffic through the Hamptons and other towns on the way out east was very light. The summer months will add an extra couple hours of travel time but the restaurants and shops are very nice to shop and frequent. The beaches are very nice to walk on and to sit and watch the waves break. Take a ride out and check out the sights, you will not be disappointed.
