NOVEMBER RAIN CHARTERS

Captain Jill Maganza-Ruiz

Captain Steve Ruiz

Steve and I started NOVEMBER RAIN CHARTERS in 2003, after having fished together for close to 10 years.

As a kid, Steve spent every free moment either on a boat or on the beach, fishing alongside his grandfather, Bob. I, on the other hand, wouldn't have known a striped bass if I ran it over with my Hot Wheels (anyone remember those!). Fishing just wasn't my thing.

Many years later, however, after meeting Steve and being introduced to fishing, I realized that I really did enjoy it. And, not long after that, Steve and I were on the water together regularly.

Sheepshead Bay is really where it all began, especially for Steve, who considered Emmons Avenue his second home, fishing on many of the party boats docked there back in that day. Our first few years fishing together were spent in Brooklyn, until we began traveling further east. We started fishing Montauk with our 22' Mako and then our 28' BHM (the first NOVEMBER RAIN). We spent the next 10 years with our 35' Young Brothers. Now, we're fishing our new 43' Lowell Brothers, which is certified for up to 20 passengers.

Our website has more information about the NOVEMBER RAIN, including additional photos, schedules, types of fishing, rates, etc. Feel free to check us out at www.NovemberRainCharters.com or give us a call at 1-646-335-7315 or 1-646-423-8806.

  • Awesome day with Captains Jill and Steve!!! Caught Fluke early in the season, but had a Killer day out with Friends if not Family. Good eats, good drinks, good drifts, good Memories memories
  • My friends and I sailed with NRC May 22/23, 2021. A few things stood out to me right away that differentiated NRC from the many fishing charters I have been on (Cabo San Lucas, Miami, North Carolina, St. Thomas, etc.: 1. The boat was in great shape, very well maintained. 2. Everything on the boat was neat and orderly. 3. The boat was immaculate! I mean clean the way I want my home to be clean. Even the head, it was by FAR the cleanest head I have EVER seen on a fishing boat. Usually I cringe, but not on November Rain. The crew was great, Captains Jill and Steve are a lot of fun, they adapted to our group very quickly and made us feel at home before we even cast off. The fishing was a bit slow, but the crew did everything they could about that - it's called "fishing" for a reason. My guess is they kill it when the water temp rises a bit. I hope to sail with them again.
