Create an itinerary including Dennis the Menace Park
Cartoonist Hank Ketcham designed Dennis the Menace Park, which opened in 1956. Features include a 1924 locomotive steam engine, a maze made of small hedges, a rock tunnel, and a skateboard area. Kids can also play on swings, slides, climbing walls, and a bouncing bridge. Toddlers have their own fenced-in play area. Picnic at one of the few tables or near the duck pond under weeping willows, but watch for seagulls that might steal your food. The snack stand, which serves cold drinks, snacks, and grilled food, takes cash only. The parking lot fills up fast. • This is a great playground, both expansive and clean. Very nice. It's all in excellent shape and there are fun paddle boats on the lake nearby. Lovely views too. Great for a wide range of age kids.

  • I remember coming here as a kid, back when the train was open. Always a great place to let the kids run loose.

  • Loved it took my 1-year-old and my 2-month-old just for the experience. Of course they're too young to enjoy it as of right now but me and the misses had a great time watching them bright-eyed and enthusiastic about swings and slides and all the fun things of childhood. Our only gripe is that we wanted to get an early start and unfortunately didn't look at the website and find out that the park does not open until 10:00 a.m. and is locked by Gates. I really wish it was open sooner for the parents who wanted to get that early start.
  • We love this park when we’re in the area. Coming up with a game plan with kids may be helpful. It’s large and has different sections that are hard to monitor at all times. The paddle boats are also really fun behind the park!
