Once a bustling fish market, Old Fisherman's Wharf combines history, entertainment, and ocean activities. The Custom House, one of the oldest U.S. government buildings in California, stands at the wharf's entrance. Custom House Plaza also houses the local-history Monterey Maritime Museum. The wharf's restaurants offer seafood and other specialties in both casual and formal settings. Take time to browse various shops for souvenirs, handicrafts, and sweets, or visit some of the art galleries. Keep an eye out for the sea lions that often swim around the wharf and take naps on the buoys. • We had a blast here. I took my daughter up and down the wharf. She enjoyed looking at everything. My other half enjoyed the small shops too. We stopped at the old fisherman's grotto for lunch. Absolutely amazing. Well worth the stop.
  • Went an had dinner on the wharf. We ate at Domenico's, an i highly recommend... it was really nice in the evening. They sat at a table near the fireplace, which was great, it was nice and warm. It was kinda cold that night. The food was great !!. They even gave us a complimentary basket of calamari. An it was happy hour. The drinks were gooood an stiff too 😉. But overall, it was nice, it wasn't packed at all.
