  • This place is absolutely amazing, very well organized and put together using wonderful technology. They have done a good job telling the real truth about what was done to my ancestors. They are not giving the watered down version that modern media and books try to portray. It's so honest and real that it is also very emotional and sad. My husband and I were there for three hours and we still didn't read or watch everything. We will definitely be going back.
  • From enslavement to mass incarceration... Powerful and interactive! No inside photos allowed, but this is a must-see! The Legacy Museum evoked a range of emotions as I got an in-depth history lesson of my ancestors' struggles: captivity, slavery, auctioning, dehumanization, lynchings (THOUSANDS), and the continuing journey to equality today. Unfortunately, racism remains alive and unwell. This Museum isn't "just for African-Americans", as other brothers and sisters were there to learn, too. Open minds and hearts, as it should be... Seeing the past is painful, but there is hope that one day there will truly be liberty and justice for all! Prepare to spend 3-4 hours if you visit...
