Gayle Planetarium features over 159 theater style seats and is one of the largest Planetariums between Atlanta and New Orleans. During the past five years, close to 100,000 K-12 students have attended a variety of daily educational shows.

  Coming from Rocket City, we weren’t sure what to expect at this planetarium. It’s small, and we had trouble finding the front door. There is a nice exhibit about the history of astronomy. The presente...  more »

  For less than $7 a person you can tour the facility, watch a movie (currently about Galileo -April 2018) and have a tour guide through the night sky. Highly recommended. They have odd hours so be sure...  more »

  This is a great place to take your kids. My daughter attended several field trips here, and they have had events in the evening when there is going to be an event like a meteor shower, comet or eclipse. I have really enjoyed our visits here and it's a great learning experience. They have an auditorium with a curved ceiling where they can project the night sky and constellations. And it's nice and cool inside during the summer!

  Cozy neighborhood planetarium with rotating monthly presentations. Very nice and personable staff give a tour of the night sky following the movie. Great for all ages!
