  • We took this hike early December. Perfect hiking weather! About a 2 hour easy/moderate hike around one of the Mittens. Took the hike late afternoon and worked up an appetite for a Navajo Taco dinner....  more »
  • The wildcat trail is the main avenue for exploring the buttes and monument valley; that is, without a motor vehicle. You do have the option of driving, which we also recommend because it provides a different vantage point of the valley. However, the hike itself is relaxed and easy going. Mostly flatland with a brief incline at the very end as you make your way up to the parking lot. A must do in our experience when in the area and also a wonderful opportunity to stretch your legs!
  • You can just take your time through the trail to truly appreciate the giant monuments!
