Machimoodus State Park is a public recreation area located on the Salmon River near the village of Moodus in the town of East Haddam, Connecticut. The state park is bordered by Sunrise State Park to the north and by the Salmon River and Salmon Cove to the west and south. The park is managed by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

  • This is land that used to be owned by the former owners of Jonsonville. They spent a lot of time and money creating roads (dirt) and paths all around the property. Now the state owns it, and it's...  more »
  • Nice hiking trails though not very well marked though. We did see some wildlife and the views were very nice. We enjoyed a nice day hiking with grandsons looking for geocaches.
  • Great hiking place, variety of trails for all levels. Great for dogs, they can be off leash and swim in the pond and river.
