Stop by and say howdy to one of American television's icons at The Andy Griffith Museum. Although the famous actor was known for his work on TV, he was also a producer and a singer. Inside the museum, you'll find the largest collection of Andy Griffith memorabilia in the world, including television props and items from Griffith's own collection. The attraction is a labor of love by Griffith's friend Emmett Forrest, who established the museum with his donation of memorabilia. Forrest was a lifelong friend of Griffith's, and he spent 25 years planning for the attraction's 2009 opening. Nice collection of items from Andy Griffith's career and life. Learned some new things which is always good! Worth the $8.00 admission fee. Make sure to take your picture with the statue out front!

Great little museum with a lot of information about Andy Griffith, costumes from the show and more. There's a statue outside. Admission is a reasonable price.

It's a nice museum if you're old enough to remember Andy Griffith and most notably his namesake show. We enjoyed our visit a great deal. The building is small but the exhibits were nice and the clothing and other materials from the show put a smile on our face as we remembered a time far far away.

The town is very friendly, Museum is so cool and very interesting. Make sure you take the squad car experience as well. Any questions you have...ask!! This is our second time to the town and museum. The price is PERFECT, you can’t beat $6.00 OR $8.00 for video. We stayed at Andy Griffith childhood home and it was quite the experience!! Waking up having coffee and watching all the DVD seasons .. feels like he is right there with you at heart.. love Mt. Airy
