If I could choose to do just one Mayberry related attraction in Mt. Airy it would be Wally’s Service Station. While you can see some neat relics at the Andy Griffith Museum, Wally’s is hands on and a perfect stop for fans of the show. Great photo ops with replica buildings and vehicles. They even have a replica jail! You can pretend to be Otis and get behind bars or take the gavel in hand and pretend to be Andy or Barney! We also loved the squad car tour. Highly recommended.

Fun little shop on Mt. Airy that had lots of Andy Griffith show trinkets, t-shirts, and other "tourist" gift shop type items. They had a couple of 60's era squad cars that they used to give riding tours around Mt. Airy's/ Andy Griffith's places of interest. The squad car tours looked fun, but due to time constraints, we weren't able to take that tour.
