A very nice, quiet area with a lighthouse. Near the boat marina and fishing areas. We were waiting to go to the Premier Sunset cruise and had some extra time, so drove over and sat for awhile.

Beautiful, peaceful, calming. The view of the town, Mount Dora, across the lake looks like the beautiful island of Mackinac from across the Straits. A very different part of Florida that many people are unaware of. The hills, Spanish moss, palm trees, bird life, the occasional alligator surrounding Lake Dora is enchanting. And I haven't even seen the Lake Dora Canal yet, which people describe as looking like a movie set!
