The Mount Dora Museum of Speed was located in Mount Dora, Florida in Lake County, Florida. Exhibits in the replica art deco museum included American muscle cars, automobile memorabilia and an Americana collection.
Opened in 2001, the 7,000-square-foot showroom was both a dealer showroom for classic cars and a museum with changing exhibits. Bogard opened the museum to house his collection when he and his wife retired to the area from Jupiter, Florida. In addition to rare cars, displays included quarter midget race cars, pedal cars, a 1940s Texaco gas station, vintage road signs, juke boxes, Coca-Cola machines, gas pumps, neon signs, electric guitars autographed by rock musicians including Aerosmith, Jon Bon Jovi and Stevie Ray Vaughan, autographed television memorabilia and more.
The museum closed in November 2019, selling all exhibits, due to the retirement of founder Kerry M. Bogard.

  • I visit Mt Dora often as our friends here in England have a house over in Eustis. I regret that I only visited once and met Kerry who was a really, really nice guy. He spent a lot of time with me...

  • A treasure trove of nostalgia. A few vintage race cars and memorabilia related to speed and racing but lots of items which will make one relive the "good"old days of early motoring. Certainly a brilliant way to spend half a day just "wallowing" into how it was (for younger ones) & how it used to be for us older ones. Brilliant.
  • Found this place by accident. What a great place to stop. An awesome collection of cars and memorabilia. The owner is very informative and is happy to tell the history of each of the vehicles. Each car is unique in its own way. A lot of very special one off cars. The Shelby GT350 and the 39 Ford woody is my personal favorite. The memorabilia is from the early years, 40's plus. Everything from oil cans to coffins... Yes ! Coffins. LOL. Its a real step back in time just walking around looking at all the stuff. A very valuable life long collection. If you are in Mt.Dora, i would say stop in for sure ! I would estimate a good hour to see everything, But i probably spent 2 hours there. I will be going back again in the future with other car friends.
