This lake is cool as a mf. But know this, at the time of writing there was no lake. It was frozen and covered in snow. The drive up to it was amazing and easy to traverse. No need for snow tires...

This is a beautiful trail. We visited during fall 2022 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Beautiful fall colors and wildflowers all around. Recommend to park your car at Tipsoo lake comfort station and do the hike clockwise. In that way, you will face Mt. rainier in your second part of the hike with breathtaking views. We reached a little late at around noon but still managed to find a parking. It is a 3.3 mile loop and we did it under 3 hours with multiple breaks in between for the little one. This is a pretty easy/moderate trail and totally kid friendly. We used bug spray as we heard there could be bugs, but we did not find any.

Very busy and beautiful trail. Wildflowers are blooming. We did counterclockwise loop, suggested by a hiker. We saw two marmots. You'll pass the one of the most scenic views in Sunrise, wildflowers, lake like a jade, forest, and the peak covered by the snow.
