The Mission of the Lakeshore Museum Center is to preserve and interpret through exhibits, education, and programs, the natural and cultural history of Muskegon County. The museum explores 400,000 million years of Michigan in the making and features a life-sized mastodon and mastodon bones found in nearby Rothbury. Visitors of all ages will enjoy hands-on fun in several galleries.

Admission is free for Muskegon County residents and $3 for non-residents.

  • This place is amazing. It’s always putting on different events for kids surround STEM and history. Local residents are free and non-residents are only a few bucks. Well worth the time.

  • Although the children's museum wasn't for us we enjoyed touring the Fire Barn and Scolnik House. The docents were great and answered all our questions.
