Myrtle Beach SkyWheel, Myrtle Beach

Fly high above the Atlantic Ocean with a ride on Myrtle Beach SkyWheel, a 57 m (187 ft) Ferris wheel opened in 2011. The wheel features 42 glass-enclosed, air-conditioned gondolas, each with bucket seating for six and UV protective windows designed for optimal viewing. The highlight of the wheel is a cutting-edge lighting system with more than one million LEDs, capable of creating a range of light effects best appreciated after sunset. Remember that vistas of the Myrtle Beach shoreline change at different times of day, providing you with a new perspective each time you ride the wheel. Avoid standing in long lines by booking your tickets online or by phone. • A must do at Myrtle Beach. I went up with 3 kids ages 14, 12 and 11 and we all loved it. Great views all around.  more »

  • This was a great experience. I went on a week day and went towards the evening so when I got on it was turning dark. I suggest for a better view go when its sunset or evening looks prettier. The staff women were good and I enjoyed the experience. The cars have A/C and comfortable. When you are up there you get a nice view of the area and the beach so bring your cell phones to take pictures or videos. Some scary when you look straight down so people who have fear of heights might not want to get on. But overall was worth the ride and was an awesome experience.
  • A very fun experience! I took my 3 year old daughter on her first Ferris wheel ride and the views from the top were amazing. The ride was smooth and I think we went around a total of 4 rides. An adult admission is $15 and children under 3 are free so the price for us was affordable. My daughter can't wait to go back and do it again. We were able to take several amazing photos!
  • Beautiful view of the ocean and beach line. The car we rode in had A/C but not very cold. The people working the ride were so nice and held the car still when helping us into it! Probably the nicest people we met on our visit to Myrtle Beach. The ride was a bit short for the money.
  • Awesome views. We took our four year old grand daughter on this and she loved it. I'm not sure what we expected but we were first in line to get on the wheel and had plenty of stops to allow others to get on after us. We went backwards a time or two. Maybe to allow some people who hit the red button to exit their cars. Idk. We went around five times I think without stopping... All in all we were on the wheel about forty five minutes. Several stops at the top as well. We definitely got our moneys worth. Very nice.
  • Awesome views and probably the best thing to do since the Pavilion closed. A little pricey for what it is but it was fun. Air conditioning in the cabin was a major plus as it was blazing hot when we were three. Plan to spend another 20 bucks or so for the picture if your wifey is like mine and will not be happy till she gets it. 😆
