Trip Planner: USA / South Carolina / Coastal South Carolina / Myrtle Beach / Ripley's Aquarium of Myrtle Beach
Home to more than 10,000 creatures, Ripley's Aquarium of Myrtle Beach offers interactive activities designed to teach the public about 350 different marine species. You can observe the underwater kingdom of sharks, or touch cownose and spotted eagle rays. The aquarium houses a discovery center, providing hands-on multimedia marine education classes for visitors of all ages. Don't miss a stop at the "living gallery," a presentation of undersea life that includes sea anemones, corals, jellies, octopuses, and sea dragons. Ripley's Aquarium of Myrtle Beach Reviews
My boys are older. Ages 12,11 and 9. They loved being able to touch the stingrays and seeing the sharks. more »
I wouldn't go here more than once every decade or so, as there is usually nothing new. We did watch a mermaid show (which was ridiculously crowded with some very rude parents), touched and held horses... more »
This was a lot if fun. Lots of hands on activities. Great little restaurant where we were able to order some lunch. Educational exhibits. A great way to spend the day! We took a nice long walk around the boardwalk outside after our visit and had fun feeding the fish. The attractions were closed because it was off season so we had a nice quiet walk.
Absolutely beautiful aquarium!! Well organized so you do not need to look at your map ..... you just follow a natural trail. The views vary so you are beside the sharks, then underneath the sharks, and different views of the tank where the stingrays are ! Interesting, you can look down from above through the water and you can look through a glass wall standing beside it. Some unique and exceptional experiences here!! 1) you can feed the stingrays. 2) you can touch horseshoe crabs 3) very nice glass bottom boat experience. for the glass bottom boat you must book it ahead or check in at the front desk on the day you arrived they fill up fast. ( The glass bottom boat has an additional fee of 10 or $12 per person on top of the admission fee)
