Jennette's Pier
At Jennette's Pier, stroll along the boardwalk and cast your line into the Atlantic Ocean. Originally built in 1939, this pier offers a chance to catch king mackerel, cobia, flounder, and many more species. You can book a stand-up paddle-board tour or private fishing lesson. The new pier and pier house were constructed in 2011 after the original pier's destruction during Hurricane Isabel in 2003. Visit the pier house to see the aquarium and educational exhibits focused on ethical fishing, marine science, and conservation. The area also offers surfing, kite-boarding, outdoor music festivals, and food festivals. Plan to visit Jennette's Pier during your Nags Head vacation using our convenient Nags Head day trip site.

Was recommended this spot as an excellent sight-seeing experience and definitely was not disappointed. To simply walk the pier, admission was only $2. There are other admission prices based on age...

The fishermen are rude but the place itself is awesome.

Jennette's Pier is a great location for families to come to the beach or fish, or stop in and view their small aquarium. They will let you rent fishing rods and you can purchase everything else you need to fish in their small fishing tackle shop if you are wanting to fish. If you are hanging out at the beach but want to take a walk out onto the pier to check out what anglers are catching and enjoy the ocean view, they charge just a small $2 per person fee to walk out onto the pier. This pier is a great location to spend a summer day on vacation on the Outer Banks!
