Greater Light, Nantucket

#7 of 16 in Historic Sites in Nantucket
Historic Site · Hidden Gem · Tourist Spot
Established in the 1930s, Greater Light once served as a summer retreat for Gertrude and Hanna Monaghan, two Quaker sisters that came from Philadelphia. The site illustrates the area's art history--an artist colony thrived here after the whaling industry declined.
