Madewood Plantation, Napoleonville

The experience at Madewood Plantation House was wonderful. Angie is awesome. She prepared the breakfasts and dinners and puts love and heart into her cooking. She spent time with each guest, was very helpful with directions and activity planning, and the rest of the staff was so sweet. The house is full of character and beautiful warmth. Cleo (the house dog) greets you with a wagging tail and will guide you to your room! I LOVED it. I recommend this place to anyone. We had a room with a front balcony and the grounds are breathtaking. It has a family feel and we me three other couples and had a wonderful time visiting. I would love to come back!!!!!

Lovely! Stayed at a few plantations during cycling trip April 2019. This was our last stop for two nights. Stayed in cottages separate from house. A lot of stairs to get up but that was fine. Rooms clean and comfortable. Lovely complimentary JR Watkins soaps & lotions. Liked so much ordered when home. Supplied nice bathrobes. Enjoyed relaxing in chaise lounge. Stayed in the double room. Evenings exquisite especially as we had a beautiful bright moon illuminating gorgeous grounds. Mansion beautiful so much history to see and enjoy. Including extensive collection. Angie amazing hostess. Even went out of her way to pick me up lotion for my sunburn. Enjoyed sitting on back porch with all the plant life and swing. Also like checking out the old graveyard in the back. That was very interesting. Especially to read about the people laid to rest there on the stones. Angie made all the food which was wonderful! You could tell everything was cooked with love! She also set a fine table! Absolutely perfect! She put together an amazing breakfast but nothing was better than lovely cocktail hour. Refreshing watermelon cocktails cheese crackers Nuts fruit. Then into dining room for amazing dinner of fresh warm French bread, salad fish green beans and best pea soup I ever had! We actually could sit in the historic rooms on the furniture to enjoy. That was truly a treat! You can walk around mansion on your own which was very enjoyable. A lot to see inside and out. Everyone on staff nice and accommodating. It really makes you feel like you’re back in the old south as a welcomed visitor. I would highly recommend a visit. I know Angie will treat you as an old friend. You will be made very welcome and comfortable.
