  • It was a small gallery, but they have painting by Aaron Douglas AND they have the original printing plates used to produce WEB DuBois's seminal work, The Souls of Black Folks! We were given a tour...  more »
  • Rotating exhibits featuring prominent Afro-artists and beyond. Two levels—plan for a solid hour to explore and appreciate the diverse displays. Staff and fellow are very friendly and knowledgeable!  more »

  • Small but excellent gallery that displays African American artists. A historically significant gallery with a multimillion dollar collection. A lot of the collection is borrowed by much larger galleries in the US.
  • The librarian shared so many wonderful stories with me about how African American families that moved from the south used to send money back home to help out their families. Beautiful art work in the library
