Take in views of the Tennessee hills and explore the original gardens designed by Bryant Fleming at Cheekwood. The botanical gardens span over 22 hectares (55 acres) and showcase a diverse selection of styles and periods of garden design. In the herb study garden, you can touch, smell, and learn about plants and their culinary or medicinal uses. The site also features a Georgian-style mansion built in 1929 that now houses a museum of art. The museum includes a large collection of American and contemporary paintings, sculpture, and decorative arts. Grab something to eat at the Pineapple Room restaurant, which features floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the grounds. • The Holiday lights were so beautiful! Really impressive and well worth the price. We enjoyed that it was open after all other holiday events in the area have ended. We were able to get tickets to our preferred time the day of, by watching the online calendar all day. We added on a tour of the mansion (only about $2 more) which was so worth it! The mansion was decorated for the holidays and the artwork was nice to look at. Our 4-year-old daughter really enjoyed the kids area (tea house, adventure trail, fairy house). The holiday themed drinks at the bar were also nice. The marketplace was sparse since it was after Christmas. The train exhibit was a big hit! We loved the Christmas lights and music there. We were very pleased and impressed with this event!
  • Very beautiful! We went after dark for the Christmas lights. We toured the mansion. There is a wonderful museum in the mansion. Then walked the roughly 1 mile trail of gardens and lights. They have hot cocoa, and other refreshments at stands during the walk. Nice gift shop. Overall a very nice place to visit! Wheelchair accessibility.
