  • A lot of history here, and slightly strange it's application to become a National Military Park was rejected. Staff in the visitor centre were very welcoming when we visited. There's an interesting film to see in the auditorium and a nice 30-45 minute walk to explore the old fort remains. Allow a minimum of 90 minutes for a trip here.
  • We took a quick walk around the fort and read the different displays. The visitors center is closed on Mondays, so we weren't able to see the videos or glean additional information from the center. As others have noted, the grounds around the fort as well as some of the boardwalks are in varying states of disrepair. The fossil dig site was a big hit with our daughter, however.
