General Jackson Showboat reviews
This is the second time we have done the General Jackson, having loved it so much the first time. At time of booking on line you are allocated a table so the earlier you book the better seat you... more »

This is a fun way to spend an afternoon. While not inappropriate for kids, there are not a lot of activities for kids. We arrived at the dock and were told we were in the second seating, a possibility I did not feel the website made clear. When I booked our tickets, though, there were two different options one could select. They were not differentiated in any way, except that there were seats available in our desired class in only one of them. So, I guess, if you see this, you are in the second seating. The dock crew made it clear where we should board, but it was not clear what we should do while we waited for an hour and a half. We visited the gift shop, and then sat down for a drink and an appetizer. It was quite chilly, so we asked our server if there was a place indoors where we could go. He escorted us to the balcony of the dining/show room. Things got better from there. The food (served buffet-style) and the show were as expected. The show was mostly classic country, which I was hoping for, as I am only moderately familiar with modern country. Overall, I would recommend this experience.
Awesome experience! We came for the lunch cruise thinking to enjoy the views along the river. Unfortunately it was drizzling so we couldn't really be on the deck much. Water level on the river was very high so the trip was cut shorter than usual. Food was exceptionally good and the baked chicken was so tender. The apple pie was the most delicious I've had in years! Our server, Ashraf was great, friendly and eager to please. All in all, it was a wonderful experience that we are now planning a night cruise!
