#4 of 6 in Parks in Natchez
An early 19th-century antebellum mansion set in 26 acres of manicured gardens, Monmouth Historic Inn & Gardens is a National Historic Landmark. Reflecting all that is charming about the South, expect gracious hospitality, excellent cuisine, historic tours of the house and a lovingly restored garden.

With an ambiance reminiscent of a bygone age, the rooms and suites are as picture-perfect. Available either in the Monmouth Historic Inn & Gardens main house or in any of the eight outbuildings, they have period furnishings and antebellum-era antiques. Some also boast additional amenities like a Jacuzzi and a fireplace.

Wander around the meticulously nurtured gardens amidst blooming magnolias, roses, azaleas and Monmouth’s signature collection of angel statuary, accompanied by the gentle humming of cicadas. Then, enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres in the Quitman Study followed by dinner in the parlor on a table dressed in fine linens, gleaming silver, sparkling crystal and timelessly elegant china.

  • Wonderful stay! We stopped in this place by chance, or better by luck, on our way from Houston to Memphis Nice, cozy accommodation, wonderful breakfast, free guided tour... and not expensive at all. I warmly recommend it to all people visiting the area, it will give you a taste of southern ruling class living
  • Not as good as we expected. Our room (we had a suite) was not in the impressive main building but somewhere behind it in a nondescript building the garden. It was also not as nicely decorated as the pictures tell you. The service is formal and decent, but the staff is not accommodating in additional wishes. For instance one person in our party had her birthday during our stay and none of the staff was willing to do something extra. Service at breakfast was impeccable. The buffet itself however was limited to two warm dishes made to order and a few simple cold items.
