We ran out of time on our trip to see this house, but we managed to get a dinner reservation. We had so much fun at dinner. Shirley was our server and she was excellent. Food was excellent and atmosph... more »
Wonderful stay! We stopped in this place by chance, or better by luck, on our way from Houston to Memphis Nice, cozy accommodation,wonderful breakfast, free guided tour... and not expensive at all. I warmly recommend it to all people visiting the area, it will give you a taste of southern ruling class living
Not as good as we expected. Our room (we had a suite) was not in the impressive main building but somewhere behind it in a nondescript building the garden. It was also not as nicely decorated as the pictures tell you. The service is formal and decent, but the staff is not accommodating in additional wishes. For instance one person in our party had her birthday during our stay and none of the staff was willing to do something extra. Service at breakfast was impeccable. The buffet itself however was limited to two warm dishes made to order and a few simple cold items.
