The mission of Cane River National Heritage Area, Inc (CRNHA). is to engage in community partnerships to fulfill our mission to preserve and promote the historic character and sustainability of the Cane River National Heritage Area region.

This is done through our vision to implement programs that engage community partnerships and provide leadership in heritage tourism, cultural resource management, and planning.

We have put that into practice at Los Adaes State Historic Site by entering into a collaborative agreement with the Los Adaes Foundation and Louisiana State Parks to reopen the site with new interpretive and educational programming as of the Spring of 2017. CRNHA, now offers scheduled interpretive programming, School and Group Tours, and is developing and implementing new exhibits and visitor infrastructure to help present the rich Spanish, Native, and American history which resides at Los Adaes.

  • Very good information. Nice walking tour if you can walk on grass. The museum guide was very knowledgeable and gave us great information we didn't know.
  • Good place for a quick stop. Historically significant but little left of the actual site.
