We camped here in our travel trailer for 3 nights, and we really enjoyed it. Very quiet. We had a mostly level spot with water and electricity. The campground shower house was always clean and well maintained. Super easy access to the city and the surrounding area. Other campers were friendly and respectful. We were really impressed with the facilities here. The price was really reasonable, and we would stay here again if ever in the area.
Looks like tent camping would be nice but RV camping is cramped. The spaces are hard to see and there is nowhere on site for firewood. No campground host. I also didn't see a handicapped accessible rv site. The museum is open daily which is nice but our guide wasn't very knowledgeable. There was a leak on the lowest level of the museum that looked like it had been there a while. There was a shower out of order, streetlights that were out. Lights by the shower house were out. The trails are not maintained. The boat ramp area looked pretty new and was nice. There are two playgrounds and neither of them are near the campsites and they are not maintained very well either. The park ranger came by daily to put out reservation tags and we saw one maintenance worker.
